Our Values

We are a small family business with strong values. Here are some of the things that matter most to us at Gravel Farm.

Sustainability

From the get-go we’ve been committed to making Gravel Farm a more sustainable site.  Oak, Chestnut and Elm Cottages are all heated via a ground-source heat pump and are solar powered.

Willow House is very energy efficient with a highly insulated timber frame structure. Classed as an eco-home, it features underfloor heating provided via air source heat pump, a mechanical ventilation heat recovery system and solar panels. The property achieved an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of 111 (92 is required for an A rating).

We compost, re-use and recycle on site, wherever possible, and encourage guests to use the recycling bins provided in the cottages.  We source recycled toilet roll, aim to have zero single-use plastic in the properties and use natural, plant-based cleaning products.

Our aim is to source locally as much as possible, and with this mind, we are building a network of local small businesses. We share our black book of fabulous suppliers with our guests.

Gravel Farm is set in the most wonderful untamed landscape in the Fens populated by a variety of birds and wildlife. We are passionate about sending areas back to nature and encourage rewilding. You can enjoy wild swimming and other river activities thanks to our perfect position alongside the River Great Ouse.

Customer Service

At Gravel Farm we offer a personal level of service where your individual wishes will be catered for whether you are booking a stay in one of our cottages or planning a weekend wedding.

We focus on doing the basics really well, ensuring that your stay in our cottages will be supremely comfortable and you will have everything you need. You will find stylish interiors and bathrooms, individual Wi-Fi connectivity and a high standard of cleaning throughout.  Our high quality beds and mattresses are British-made by 'Harrison Spinks' and we love it when guests say, ‘We had the best night’s sleep ever.’

From your very first phone call, we want to help make your stay with us is as enjoyable as it possibly can be and our team are ready to share their knowledge. Contact us to ask us any questions about the local area, our accommodation or Gravel Farm.

Supporting small businesses

As a small business, we like to support other small businesses and especially those on our doorstep. Local businesses put money back into the community and help it to grow. It’s also rather special when guests discover something made by a local artisan.

Our focus is on increasing our small business suppliers. We source products from a range of local businesses including makers of soap and cake.

Please do call 07723 016 965 if you have any questions. Just ask - we’re here to help.
